GNT Reading for the day: Mat. i

My Greek New Testament reading for the day: Matthew i. What stuck out to me this time was ton Dauid ton basilea, “King David,” in the genealogy. Matthew was really trying to add credibility to the regal status of Jesus, who was God with us.

ABCs The New Face of American Evangelicalism

Here’s a short video interview with a panel on ABC News discussion the “New Face of American Evangelicalism.” This is an interesting discussion. Ultimately, I’m not sure how helpful it would be to someone who holds to the more traditional American Christian ideals. It’s not particularly polarizing. The individuals on the panel are not some of the more “popular” names in the non-traditional evangelical world. Still, I think this is [...]

Christians: take a stand! Torture must stop!

Mohammed Jawad was captured in Kabul and given over to the US forces in 2003. At the time he was around 14 years young. And this is what the US has done to him: What is not in dispute is that he was no older than an adolescent, and that since his capture he has been tortured and otherwise put through hell. The evidence against him has been discredited. He [...]

Paul’s Bones Confirmed…?

Apparently after some carbon dating showed fragments of bones were from the first or second century A.D., Pope Ratzinger declared This seems to confirm the unanimous and uncontested tradition that they are the mortal remains of the Apostle Paul While I’m not all that convinced, I’m also not all that concerned. What truly grasped my attention was the ancient fresco of Paul that was found: On Saturday, the Vatican newspaper [...]
