Not allowed to distribute the Gospel of John in Michigan?

This is a very interesting video. A group of Christians attempt to hand out English-Arabic versions of the Gospel of John outside a Muslim festival. After being detained, they are told they must be over 5 blocks away to do so legally.
I’m not big on the over-hyped, scare the Christians sort of thing. And I’m not posting this to promote the idea that Christian liberties are on their last legs. But it’s important to think about what we do as we present the Good News of Jesus.

Thanks to James White.

Having attended the Muslim Ministries track sessions at this year's Pastors' Conference at Moody Bible Institute, I am not surprised at the witness of this video …. not surprised at all.

One thing I hope does not get lost in the midst of the “battle” that this video presents – that the gospel is of greater importance than personal freedoms and that offence to the gospel is more disturbing than encroachment on personal freedoms.

Praise be to God who knows His way around these kinds of human issues. :)

Legal or not, we are to live the Kingdom life, and present the Good News. Are you saying focus on bold and creative ways to continue the ministry to Muslims (which is what happens around the world where such ministry is outlawed) instead of focusing on ensuring we have our legal rights to do such a thing?

I am not sure I would say focus on one OR the other. It's more a “while focusing on both” don't forget which is the more important. Understand that I am “reacting” to my observation that some invest so much in the lesser (eg. focusing on legal rights) that they obscure or even “dismiss” the greater (living the Kingdom life and presenting the Good News) which obviously entails the needed focus on bold and creative ways to continue the ministry to <insert group here>.

Am I making any sense here? (re-reads his own thoughts again …. and again …. and …oh never mind :P )

p.s. how come your comment controller shows there are 3 comments here but only 2 are viewable?

    Ahh, good deal.

On the comments deal…my Disqus comment number display has always had hiccups and issues. Not sure what the problem is yet.

I would say that the US Christians make toooo big a deal about legal earthly rights, they are Kingdom children first and foremost. Instead of whining they should take not of the Apostles who thought it great joy that they should suffer for the Gospel.
